An Evening with Scott Sean White Sunday July 30th, 2023

Singer - Songwriter

Scotts Bio

“Some songwriters spend precious time struggling to find their truth and make it rhyme. Others just pick up their guitar and tell it. Scott Sean White is one of the others.”

- Jack Ingram

“Vocally, White’s exceptional. Lyrically sharp, melodically masterful... this is where Country music should be... One of the year’s best.” -

Americana Highways

"It’s an even bet, this could end up on your 2021 best of.”

Folking.com

“I think God gives us art to penetrate the scar tissue on our hearts to make us feel something again. Scott Sean White uses artistry and craft for that very purpose. Sometimes his songs are beautiful. Sometimes they are painful. But it is
a beautiful pain that makes us know we are alive. I’m a fan.”

- Tom Douglas (Songwriter - The House That Built Me - Miranda Lambert)

Scott Sean White makes his home these days in Poetry, Texas, a perfectly named little town for a songwriter’s songwriter. His first album, "Call It Even," came out in April 2021, and he has a new album coming out in the summer of 2023 called “Even Better On The Bad Days.” Produced by the Grammy-nominated Dave Brainard who produced Brandy Clark’s “12 Stories” album, among others, it features 10 brand new songs, including one he wrote with Radney Foster and has Radney singing harmony on it. White is a storyteller both in his songs and the banter in-between songs, laying out his life experience - his faith and struggles - and intertwining it all with his craft. He also has two songs on the current Cody Johnson album - “God Bless the Boy” and “Made a Home.” A staff writer in Nashville where he spends two weeks each month writing, recording, and playing shows, Scott tours all over Texas and the southeast and his own live show is starkly honest, transparent, and eye-opening, full of laughter and probably a few (good) tears, too.

An Evening with Aaron Scherz
September 9th, 2023

Singer - Songwriter

IT ALL STARTED WITH A LITTLE RUM...

...and a mom who raised him on good music. Jimmy Buffett, John Denver, James Taylor and others.

Aaron always knew he was going to do something "different". But he couldn't have imagined that "different" would involve tropical islands, sail boats, catamarans, Parrotheads, Meeting Of The Minds, Coral Reefers, and a multi-platinum Songwriting career!

His music covers a wide range of topics and has taken him all over the world. But most special to him are his songs about the laid-back lifestyle best enjoyed in a hammock underneath a palm tree with a rum in hand.

Whether you hear music on Radio Margaritaville, on stage with John Frinzi and the Coral Reefers at MOTM, or in some Key West hideaway, his music is sure to take you away to that "one particular harbor" and get you in an island state of mind.

Highlights:

- Wrote and produced the certified platinum and Billboard #1 country single, "Girl In A Country Song" performed by Maddie & Tae

- Wrote "Boy Gets A Truck", recorded by Keith Urban on his Grammy Nominated album, Ripcord. It has also just been released on Jimmie Allen’s new album, “Mercury Lane”

- 2018-19 Texas Country Music Association Songwriter Of The Year

- Performed at Meeting Of The Minds for the past several years as a solo act, as well as joining the Reefers and John Frinzi for the annual "Album Hours"

- Cuts by Jimmie Allen, Tyler Braden, Southern Drawl Band, Keith Urban, Maddie & Tae, Tyler Farr, Reba McEntire, Jennifer Nettles, Jana Kramer, Tracy Lawrence and more!

An Evening with The Sauce Boss
October 7th, 2023

Singer - Songwriter

Bill Wharton, AKA Sauce Boss, has brought his swamp-funk, slide guitar, and a pot of gumbo all across the US and to Canada, Europe, and Asia. He slathers his show with his hot sauce, and splooges a big old mess of it into the gumbo. He invites the audience to participate in stirring the pot, and at the end of the show, everyone eats. He has served hundreds of thousands of bowls for free at his legendary live shows. Bill Wharton mixes media like cornbread in his performance. Hot sauce, blues, chicken, funk, onions and okra, peppers and gospel, soul and seafood and slide guitar, all go into the gumbo pot that we call community. All of this is the reason they call him The Sauce Boss. Bon Appetit!

Jimmy Buffett sings about him in “I Will Play for Gumbo”. Wharton’s anthem, “Let the Big Dog Eat” was included on Buffett’s “Late Night Menu at the Margaritaville Cafe” album.  Albert Castiglia released his cover of the tune, and it hit #1 on blues charts. Let the Big Dog Eat has also appeared in the movies “Something Wild”(Jonathon Demme), and the Rock Doc, “Jimmy Carter Rock and Roll President.” This tune and sixteen other works in the documentary earned Wharton “‘Best Original Score” from the Los Angeles Film Awards.

An Evening with Roger Barlett and Emily Randle

Singer - Songwriter

Roger's Bio:

Roger is the original guitarist of Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band.

In the early days it was Jimmy and Roger; two acoustic guitars and vocals.

Also on his list of credits, he is the writer/

performer of “Fool for a Blonde,” a/k/a the Sidewalk Café song, from the classic

horror movie "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

As a singer/songwriter/lead guitarist Roger leads his own band

delivering original music with elements of Rock, Blues, Funk, and Jazz. His distinctive

voice, lead guitar work and twisted sense of humor, make his music unique.

Roger started in Little Rock, Arkansas playing blues, rhythm & blues and rock in clubs,

roadhouses, and colleges all over the South. Inspired on the guitar by B.B. King and Eric

Clapton, by songwriters like The Beatles and Steve Cropper, his songwriting fueled these

early bands. They took him to Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and finally to Nashville,

teaming up with hit songwriter Bill Callery to form the acoustic duo, Lusaza Guse.

Eschewing the Nashville orthodoxy, Roger and Bill migrated to Austin, Texas.

Down in Austin, when Lusaza broke up, Roger happened to sign on with Jimmy Buffett for

some of the most memorable gigs of his life. When Roger left the Coral Reefer Band, he

ended up in New York City, playing gigs with his band, doing studio work as a guitarist,

producer and recording engineer, and writing music for film, TV and albums. Now he

lives and works out of sunny St. Petersburg. Florida.

He has earned two platinum and gold records for his work as a session guitarist, played

on movie soundtracks for Urban Cowboy, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Rancho

Deluxe (with Jeff Bridges and Sam Waterston). Roger played on albums by Jimmy Buffett

(including the Margaritaville album, Changes in Lattitudes) and many other artists. He

has opened for Little Feat, Three Dog Night, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, James

Taylor, Lightning Hopkins, Heart, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jerry Jeff Walker, The

Persuasions, Count Basie, Bill Haley and the Comets, Jackie Wilson and many others.

Emily's Bio:

A native Chicagoan, Emily began violin and songwriting at age nine. After completing two violin degrees with a minor in jazz, she played professionally with The Louisville Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony, and Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as with jazz combos, salsa bands and rock groups. Memorable gigs include sharing the stage with Andrea Bocelli, Joshua Bell, Luciano Pavarotti, Yo-Yo Ma, Frank Sinatra Jr., Steven Curtis Chapman, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Yes, The Moody Blues, Kansas, Enter the Haggis, Belle and Sebastian, Bjork, and Rod Stewart. (Three of these artists hit on her at the gig. Can you guess who?)

In 2003, Emily won a national audition for The US Army Band, “Pershing’s Own”. At basic training, she qualified both right- and left-handed on her M16, scored “Expert” in grenade, and gratefully played a beat-up rental each Sunday, thanks to the Chaplain’s wife. Emily served 20 years active duty at Ft. Myer Virginia, next to Arlington National Cemetery. After 11 years with the Strolling Strings, she put down her violin and moved into Operations, coordinating missions for the largest US military band in the world. As of 01 SEP 2023, she retires as an exhausted but proud Sergeant Major. Her medals include 3 ARCOMs, 2 MSMs, and the Chief of Chaplains’ Order of Aaron and Hur.

Pre-Army, in 2001 she played a show with singer-songwriter Peter Mayer, the lead guitarist for Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefers. Pete invited her back for his 2002 “Stars and Promises” tour, where she met Scott Kirby, who then flew her down to Key West for 10 days at the Hogsbreath to play, drink, recover, and shout back at roosters. The rest is history and serendipity. She’s played with hundreds of artists in Key West at “Meeting of the Minds”, and with most Coral Reefers, including her friends, original CRs Keith Sykes and Roger Bartlett. Emily is thrilled to join Roger at the Drunken Octopus, sharing songs and the tales behind them. Emily’s solo album is titled “Girl of My Dreams”; she is a Fishman endorsed Artist.

An Evening with Mick Fury
Wednesday April 12th, 2023

Singer - Songwriter

Micks Bio

The last few years have been a tornado of crazy across the musical landscape, but through it all East Nashville artist and composer Mick Fury has kept his head down creating tunes. In 2022 an opportunity arose for Mick to become the Composer for a Mel Gibson/Cole Hauser (Yellowstone) movie called PANAMA. Mick found himself in the unique position of being featured as an Artist on the soundtrack, as well as the composer of a $10 million budget film destined for theaters. He shot to work.

Mick leaned on his previous experience: regularly placing songs in the Young and the Restless, as well as the Underworld movie franchise. He’d spent the past 10 years on the road, touring the East Coast and opening for acts like Bret Michaels, Brothers Osborne, Bush, the Stone Temple Pilots and a ton more honing his craft. His performances also gained Mick slots at CMA Fest, Americana Fest, and Key West Songwriter Fest. With plentiful references to pull from, fired up his studio and began to compose.

Six months later Panama hit theaters and the press was abuzz about both the lead actors and to see what Mick has come up with. You can find Mick Fury’s work on Panama on iTunes and Amazon Prime, and catch him on the road this Summer!

An Evening with Eric Erdman & Carrie Welling
March 24th, 2023

Singer - Songwriters

Eric's bio:

Eric Erdman is a guitar slinging troubadour. His lyrics paint stories that are introspective and deep, quirky but palatable. His songs have fresh hooks that somehow draw listeners in like old friends. Eric has penned the theme song for “Drag Race High” , released 9 studio albums and 7 live albums. He is the 13X (2010-2022) Lagniappe Awards Solo Musician of the Year, 2021 Southland Music Line Musician of the Year, 2021 and 2022 TRMA Songwriter of the year and co-wrote the 2021 TRMA Song of the Year , “The Wave”, and his current album “Enough” hit the TOP 20 on the iTunes Country album chart.

Carrie's bio:

No stranger to change or the exploration that comes with it, Carrie Welling has been navigating life’s twists, turns, demons, and discoveries from a young age. A self-described ‘military brat’, Welling’s struggle to feel rooted in any one place carved a unharmonious path of heartbreak, doubt, and insecurity that defined her 20s and early 30s… a journey that lead to her soul-defining rebirth as an international touring artist with a place to call home in Nashville, TN.

Her bold, sultry voice, reminiscent of Sheryl Crow’s grit, Natalie Maines’ twang, and Stevie Nicks’ heart, is upstaged only by the genuine love and connection this natural performer has with her fans both on and off stage. But embracing confidence has not always been easy for this singer-songwriter, who speaks candidly about her battle to be good to herself, and to quiet the inner voice nagging her to be “perfect”. Melodies rich in folksy, Americana roots, paired with empowering, honest lyrics are stunningly showcased in Welling’s full length album High Heels and Heavy Things. Created in a home studio in Nashville with purely organic instruments, this raw and vulnerable record was produced by Eric Holljes (Delta Rae) and features songs co-written by the talented likes of Holljes, Mary Bragg, Alex Wong, and Matt Zavala.

Cory Young 12-14-2022

Singer Songwriter

It’s often said that songwriting comes from life experience and Cory’s music is the perfect example. Growing up between the white sandy beaches of Oahu and the dirt roads of rural Carleton Michigan, he was fortunate enough to experience a childhood full of variety and culture.

This upbringing along with nearly a decade in the Nashville music scene has had a huge impact on the content and sound of his music.

But it was a chance vacation, and maybe too many Chesney songs that led him to sell everything, leave Nashville, and buy a sailboat, spending the next 5 years sailing the Florida Keys, Bahamas, Tortuga’s, and Caribbean with his family.

Nominated for 6 - 2018 TRMA awards and winner of the Trop Rock Music Association’s Album of the Year “SeaHabilitation”, as well as the Horizon Award.

He was named the the 2018 TropRockin Magazine’s People’s Choice “Breakthrough Artist” and his single “All She Does is Beach” was named as the most requested song of the year (2018) by RadioTropRock.

With music inspired by Kenny Chesney, Jack Johnson and Jimmy Buffett, and by many of his own adventures and life, you’ll find music for pirates, beach bums and Parrotheads alike.

Cory and his beautiful wife Jessica now reside back in the Florida Keys where most of his inspiration came from.

You can find him almost nightly in and around Marathon, FL where he now plays regularly for those vacationing that have the very same dream Cory once had, …. living where “Life Looks Best!”
